Federal Liberal policy officially supports the adoption of the Alternative Vote system (ranked ballots in single-member ridings) for Canadian elections. This is not a proportional system. We are Liberals who believe that our party should lead on true electoral reform for Canada. If Canada’s elections were more proportional, the Liberal Party would have won the seats it deserved in the 2011 election, and millions more Liberal voters right across the country would be represented by someone they voted for.
| Here’s where the leadership candidates rank on making our elections more proportional. Between April 6th and April 14th, 2013, vote for the leadership candidate with the strongest commitment to PR. Together, we’ll make sure the Liberal Party of Canada commits to making 2015 the last unfair election. |
